Bouncing Back

Its been a long time since I have blogged. Christmas, actually. Sometimes the creative flow takes a break for life, you know things happening all around. Happy to say I am getting back in the swing of things now. I received a great gift from hubby, the new Heidi Swapp minc machine, that absolutely got me going again! Here are a few things I have been doing lately. The Silhouette Cameo is also a fav of mine. I have been trying to use "my stash" as we all know what that means in the crafting world. I ran out of paper, so the next best thing is to use white cardstock and Glimmer mist, Heidi Swapp Color shine, Tim Holtz distress stain and sprays. When you just don't have time to run to the scrapbook store you do the next best thing. Hope you enjoy some of these little ideas. Getting ready for the next online class with Margie and Meg Aslett-Spark Your Summer 2015!
Monkeys, butterflies (all sizes), lizards, birds and flowers, all sizes and colors, and palm leaves. I love the little bit of sheen of the color shine and the matte of the distress stains. All products work well together.

Christmas Collage

Nothing quite like having homemade Christmas items. I love taking the online Spark Your Christmas each year with Margie RomneyAslett and Meg Aslett. Their classes are so inspiring and teaches you to use your "stash" as we call it. Using supplies you already have on hand. All of my projects this year were made this way. I did order some new Christmas papers, but that's it. The little boxes were made with my Silhouette Cameo, which btw my husband, gave me for Christmas. He gets me! lol
The junque bow was made out of cheesecloth, burlap, tulle, jute, gold foil looking tulle, in natural colors that matched the nativity scene. The deer head pillows were made from flannel and no sew wonder under for placement, inspired by a Spark Sister. The little junque bows were made for toppers for gifts, using green masking paper, plaid strips of fabric, tulle and ribbons with laser cut veneer stars. The paper trees were made from inspiration from Spark Your Christmas 2014. Various Christmas papers with some gold mixed in. Cut slanted, v cut on bottoms and some with pinking sheers just to give it a textured look. Also, used old book paper to make some, topped with wood veneer stars. The lollie tree, as I call it. Stacked lollies to make a tree shape and add star at top. Can be made small to very large. The Christmas tags were inspired from Spark Your Christmas 2014. Layers of ribbons, mixed as well as small strips of fabrics. I loved making those. The strips of fabric reminded me of the manger scene with the fringe on bottom and the star of course on top. The tags were cut with my silhouette cameo, which btw I Love! I loved my homemade Christmas projects this year. A tradition that I will most likely keep up. I truly love the warmth it gives to our home.
